Trying to describe myself is hard, mainly because i feel i am full of contradictions. I like being alone but at the same time love surrounding myself of new people. I like being independent and self sufficient but appreciate having friends and family who i can lean on when i need help. I have a big family and a good amount of friends, however i am almost always distant.
People usually see me as a strong and confident person, with a tough exterior. However on the inside i am very sensitive and emotional.
There are two main things in my life that make me happy, photography and New York city.
Being behind my camera has always been my greatest passion, documenting people and places it's always been a way for me to identify a place and time I'm living in.
I find happiness being surrounded by people and life, by art and inspiration.
I picture my future traveling trough the world, meeting people and documenting all the new things i encounter.

My own

Some of my portraits

For me choosing between my pictures is one of the hardest and most critical part as a photograph.
It seems that each time I look back on them I wish I could change or fix something else, i guess it's just part of the desire of improving each day.
Anyway, after a lot of thinking and going trough hundred of photographs, these were the ones I decided to post.

Inspiring Portraits

Boy with toy hand grenade. Photo by: Diane Arbus 1962
This is one of those pictures which I can't get tired of looking at. I thinking it captures such a great emotion and sense of frustration and tension. The way that his strap is down his arm, his claw-like hand and his maniac expression make it a fascinating portrait.

Emma Watson photographed by Vincent Peters for Glamour UK 2012
I find this set of portraits has a deep sense of emotion that really captures my attention. Her expressions are completely different in each one but at the same time they all give a sense of sadness and entrapment.  The powder on her face gives her a more profound and penetrating look.

City Silhouettes. Photographed by: Jasper James 2010

City Silhouettes is a series of pictures by photographer Jasper James where he superimposes the portraits with the cityscapes using light and reflected glass. It's a way of illustrating the cityscapes through the person viewing it, creating a familiar silhouette. It leaves us with a certain mystery of the person in the portrait, compensating it with a second subject in the picture which is the city. This makes it very unique and interesting.

Marilyn Monroe Photographed by: Richard Avedon 1957

This photograph makes part of his portrait film portfolio which includes several portraits of different actors and directors from photographer Richard Avedon. I especially like this portrait of Marilyn Monroe, I think her expression feels distant and absent giving the portrait an awkward feeling. She seems to be in a different planet and it makes me wonder on what she must've been thinking at that time.
